Seven months ago, I had my annual physical and my doctor said "you can plan on taking blood pressure and cholesterol medication your entire life.” I walked out of the doctors office with the intention of cleaning my body from the inside out. I set goals of adopting a primarily a plant based diet, daily meditation, train for a full marathon and strength training at Super Fit.

Today, I am down 60 pounds! This could not have been done without the team at Super Fit!! The trainers gave good instruction and pushed me during each work out. Jeff and Linda got a real project when I first stepped foot in Super Fit. I was a 49 year old, 5’8”, 260+ lbs., out of shape, desperately in need of a non-judgmental, patient, effective approach to long-term health and fitness. Little did we know that over the years they were going to need to train and rehab me through Aorta Replacement Surgery, ten cardiac stents, a quadruple bi-pass, heart attack and progressively deteriorating kidney disease. The program at Super Fit is challenging (or as challenging as you want to make it) but it is set up in such a way that it makes it easy to follow and the trainers are always right there to personally instruct, correct your form and guide you.  My biggest struggle going to the gym in the past was not knowing what to do especially with strength training. “I was dealing with horrible back pain after being diagnosed with lumbar herniated discs in 2015. They wanted to do surgery on me but I opted out. Instead, I decided I would try strengthening my ‘core’ rather than surgery. Out of recommendation, I joined Super Fit in May of 2017. I was told that the trainers there were highly experienced with lower back and other orthopedic issues.

The head trainer, Jeff Turner, started me off very slow and deliberate with abdominal and low back exercises and told me that it wasn’t going to strengthen in a week. He was right! My back still hurt (but not getting worse) the first 6 weeks but he urged me on until finally at around 8 weeks it started to feel better and had relief. After three months I had no back pain whatsoever and my full-body strength gains were incredible. Now, a year and a half later, I am stronger than I have ever been and I have ZERO back pain!

“Super Fit is a place where people of all different shapes and sizes can come together and work hard for their personal fitness. It doesn’t matter your age, your level of athleticism or any other physical characteristic. It’s sincerely for every person who wants to better themselves in a positive environment with awesome people and coaches.

I come from a competitive Olympic weightlifting background and found myself not enjoying it nor progressing the way I wanted to. I was training in a way that was creating gaps in my strength. My mom and I would come back from our different training and there was a stark difference between her attitude & energy and mine. The difference was that my mom was doing Super Fit and I was not. When I realized that what she was doing seemed a lot more fun and gratifying, I too decided to try Super Fit. By the end of my first training session I was totally and utterly exhausted. It was the most inspiring and motivating moment for my personal fitness. I had found the right coaching, programming and people to surround myself with in order to achieve fitness in the way that it should be.

Currently, my mom and I religiously go to our Super Fit three times a week and are always equally pumped up about the things we can accomplish. Though her and I are completely different athletes (she is a long distance runner) we both have a great experience and love getting a bit sore from the workouts during the week. This has been a great opportunity for my mom and I to do something together that we both enjoy.

After doing Super Fit for a short amount of time, I have seen and felt numerous changes. My Olympic weightlifting has gotten better in that my strength has been dramatically better-rounded (especially my core). In addition to this, what I see in the mirror and on the scale have been pretty great.

“We’ve been working out at Super Fit for six years now and have found that it’s absolutely perfect for the both of us. For years we had tried private personal training and the big-box gyms but always seemed to have to motivate ourselves over and over again. “I love Super Fit! I joined almost 2 years ago and have always looked forward to my workouts. I have certainly brought my body back. I have lost 40 pounds and I can now say that I am in great shape!

“I suffered a slipped disc in September of 2013 and my lower back saga began. I went to a chiropractor and massage therapist for six weeks which helped temporarily but never solved the problem. I then went to a back specialist and was diagnosed with sciatica and he recommended that I strengthen my core and entire body. I was feeling helpless and I was afraid to workout by myself especially strength training which I knew nothing about. I looked into private 1:1 training but that was cost prohibited.

“My name is Beckie Propst and I am 57 years old. When I turned 50, there were major changes happening to my body – weight gain, high cholesterol and low energy. After a family loss, both my wife and I experienced a dramatic low-point in our lives: She became lethargic, I took to drinking and eating poorly. During this three month malaise I often thought about turning our lives around by getting involved in some form of a fitness program. However, I didn’t know where to begin. I had heard stories of personal trainer programs as the way to go. However, I was skeptical of the idea of the ‘uber-trainer’. Thoughts of the ‘in-your-face’ approach raced through my mind. I thought someone would come into my home, throw away all my food and make me do push-ups at 5 a.m.

Super Fit is located near my home and I would often drive by it on my way to work. Not knowing much about the gym or its programs I decided to call. Jeff Turner answered and responded kindly and intelligently to my skepticism and curiosity.

After a few short weeks of workouts and interactions with Jeff and the entire SuperFit team I was convinced this program was for us: my entire family. I later brought in my wife to join in the fun and, she too quickly realized the benefits.

We have been members for three years and equally seen results in the following areas:

• I have lost over 30lbs of fat while maintaining core strength and musculature.

• My wife has found a new gained energy, as she is often getting up at 3am for work. Plus, I am quite fond her tight abs!

I passed the place for years because I thought it was for weight trainers – but it’s nothing like that.
