Quick-Tip
Question:
How do I control my
late night food and sugar cravings?
Answer:
This is a good question and a big
problem for many people trying to
lose weight. Late night sugar
(carbohydrate) cravings generally
arise from inadequate calories
throughout the day. When you eat
very little during the day this
drastically lowers blood sugar and
puts you into blood sugar deficit
(BSD). Then at night (many times
after dinner) to make up for BSD,
those uncontrollable cravings are
turned on and there is nothing (or
no one) that's going to stop you
from tearing into every bag of
potato chips, jar of jelly beans or
carton of ice cream!
The best way to control this is to
simply eat three to four balanced
meals of (250 to 300 calories each)
throughout the day so you don't go
into BSD. It takes a lifestyle
change but it's a powerful one. Give
it a try, I bet it works for you.
Make a concerted effort to get at
least one part lean protein, one
part carbohydrate and one part fruit
or vegetable for each of your daily
meals.
